ok, this one will be used to post your wish-list regarding to the website. those are mine:

a better template on the main page (eg. bigger icon/button for the tabs on the left, and wider format especially since now a significant number of people are using widescreen)

hiding all the old threads/boards away from the normal members (can still keep them for the admins staff if you want)

link the series in the anime catalogue to anidb(or even quality reviews written by the club members) so they can see the descriptions if they found an interesting title.

refresh all the information about the anime shops and websites, and also the fanart section, keep them up to date

have one more tab dedicated for the committee members to post random articles, kind of like the ones in the general board, but put it blog-like so there's more content in the main page.

for the screening page, just keep it simple with the series screened and the location instead of week by week.

remove "calender" and replace it with "events"

put the reminder of the login/pw on the main website so people actually know how to log in.

godamnit fix those javascripts in the forum, for some reason I can't put those as lists.

those are the things i have at the moment. hopefully i can see most of them implemented before the start of the semester

Update SMF to SMF 2 RC2 would be another one. ;P

Reapplying the edits to the new Babylon theme (that is based off curve now) might be a PITA. Upgrading the theme is likely to fix those javascript issues.

It would also be good if the menu hid items when users don't have the permissions to see them, like "Admin" for example. Although, with the menu that would be difficult. (Nice menu :D)

Maybe the library could have pages, with 20 or so items on a page, or even load some of the information via AJAX? Eg, only load the first 20 items, then load the next if requested, etc.

(I am a first year, although I do have a lot of experience with SMF if you need help - I go by the same username over at SimpleMachines.org)

I'm not sure how much work is involved, but when you're viewing a thread, can you put the "3WA Forums   |  Administration  |  Suggestions  |  Topic: Website wishlist" part at the top for easier navigation? Also somewhere on the "Post reply" screen.

What do you mean by that, dorobo_hamster? I see it on both those screens.

Also, after discussion with mercifulhop, we'd like to develop the new website in Python using the Django framework, and tie it into the forums via shared user tables in the database (I believe a similar thing is happening now, except that the site is currently in PHP). Thoughts? mercifulhop and I have both worked with Django in the past and it's remarkably robust and easy to use even if you don't have experience with Python.

i think what he meant is that right now the menu in the top left corner is a bit of a hassle to navigate

but yeah, would like to have some useful codes here, at least the spoiler tag so i don't have to worry about linking huge images.
(a youtube code would be nice as well....)

Currently you are probably using the SSI.php file to integrate with SMF, which is quite easy to use (it provides user management/etc). Integrating Django and SMF (if that is the forum you intend to use) will be harder.

Django looks pretty cool, although there is some stuff I might try to add to it, like epic ajax loading of pages (which could be added to the core of django using the template system and not effecting the code of the apps at all). :P
