Winter Marathon and Committee Welcome

So I just sent out an email about this. If you didn't get it spam KamikazeKame until she breaks down and does something about it. Or you could just read it here, your call.

Here I go...

So we've recently held a successful AGM (thanks if you were one of the
30-40 people who helped us make quorum) in which we elected a new
committee. It is my great pleasure to introduce them to you now:

Your Dashingly Handsome President: ME
His not-quite-so Dashing and almost as Handsome sidekick (Vice
President): Emir Habir (Jinx)
Our New Super-Organized Secretary: Anna Liu (Sakana)
And our Old Super-Talented Treasurer: Que Son Nguyen (Mr_Spiegel)

Then we have the non-executive members who actually do the work:

Your favourite taciturn Librarian: Jerome Petit (CyberFrog)
The Man with the Mic: George Song (but everyone calls him Jeroz)
Ms Manliest in the Club: QC Nguyen (KamikazeKami)
The Minion you get to whip to run screenings: Chee Yean Chan (Enigma)
and the Minion the committee gets to whip on your behalf: Nathaniel
Halim (kinginnatsuke)

So that's us and I'm sure we all look forward to pushing the club that
one inch further this year, that's why you elected us after all.

On that note we decided we should have our Traditional Winter Marathon
just after exams, to catch you guys while you were still hanging
around in Melbourne and give you something to unwind your minds to.
We'll be holding it from 10:00 - 5:00 on the 30th of June and the
theme is (imaginatively enough) "Winter". There'll be our usual pocky
and drinks as well as a stash of prizes you can win by answering a few
simple trivia questions. Venue will be announced closer to the date,
so keep your eye on our site, google calendar or your inbox.

PS. For those of you who indulged me enough to read this far
CONGRATULATIONS, you have received a secret tip. People attending the
marathon will have the opportunity to dive through a collection of all
the library's old and discarded DVD's. Some of them can even still be
read! Don't miss this opportunity to look for treasure amid the
trash...
