I'm less and less in favor of Index as times goes on. I was hopeful that the next couple of episodes will finally have some great action going on but so far, I've been treated to too much talking and too little fight scenes. Hopefully, just hopefully, the next episode will pull through. Tales of the Abyss at the moment is going quite well in terms of pacing and action, in my opinion.

And so Kannagi ends, any final impressions from anyone?

I've just picked up Kuroshitsuji, anyone watching it? It's set in Victorian England, about a 12-year-old Earl who has a Faustian contract with a devil to serve as his butler. Pretty good so far.

The end of Chäos;HEAd was majorly disappointing, and I'm also considerably vexed to learn that ep 11 is the final ep of Nodame Paris-hen.

Kannagi ending was meh, it was all about the loving the character that should not be there for romance.  Nagi is the comedy, not the love.  I am happy for the audience to want to marry her but Jin needs to be looking elsewhere.  Hence I disapprove of the ending, but it's not like I wasn't expecting it.  Also I think Kannagi was trying to be a bit too much at once.  There is a sharp contrast between the funny and sudden turn to drama.  Maybe it's just that the show was cramped in 12 eps, I remember thinking something similar of ZnT season 1.

QQ needs to release more Toradora.

Nodame also finished though none of you people seem to have noticed.  It was a decent ending but it wasn't really a climax.  I guess the whole series sorta felt like it was just chugging along after season 1.  Carrying on what was built up without really setting new goals.  I'm not saying it was bad, just that it didn't seem to go any higher.

Finally if you're looking for something interesting I've had my eye on Michiko to Hatchin for a while now (because BSS were subbing it).  It looks like it could be fun.  I'll be checking it out if I have the time.

I did too notice! Do you not see the post immediately before your own?

I've been reading the manga, so I know that the story is definitely going somewhere -- in fact, it stopped at a really exciting point. Stupid scanlation group. Chapter 126 was a horrible, horrible place to just drop it.

When I saw ep 11, I was expecting it to keep going. I had no idea it was the last episode, because it's just such a silly place to resolve a series, and there's so much more material left to go. But, I s'pose they'll make more of it sooner or later ...

Ahh, sorry about that.  I saw Chaos Head and stopped reading...

I am also suspicious that more will come, perhaps after a seasons break.

I think Kannagi ends well...if there is a second season for it. Toradora is still better than Kannagi in my opinion...that eps 13 made me realize that.

As for Index....ieargh. I dont mind quality taliking, Touma is just spourting rubbish and sometimes the way he acts like a shonen hero ticks me off. I still watch it though, so meh

I've been enjoying Index.

I also just picked up Kurozuka, which is fantastic. Also Mouryou no Hako, which is mega-creepy.

I'm afraid I have lost faith in Index.  It WAS slow but decent, now it seems fanservice focused and illogical.  Touma's ability is not defined well enough and I found his fight with Accelerator ridiculous.  I'll still be watching it, but I no longer feel any desire to screen it.

I stopped Toradora at ep 10 because qq stopped translating.  I'll try AniYoshi for a bit because I'm done waiting.  I've also picked up White Album, but that's a discussion for a new thread.  You'll note this one is meant to be about the 2008 Autumn Season.  With that in mind I'm going to go create a new thread.

In other news I just noticed that Yozakura has finished, so I'll be watching that for a bit.

Index WAS promising, but it seems to me that JCStaff devoted more of their focus on Toradora, hence the slowness in any plot progression. And I heartily agree, the fight with the Accelerator is ridiculous.

qq just stalled in their translation, but AniYoshi is a good fansub group if slightly slow in their release.

You think AniYoshi are slow?  I try to avoid speed subbers, that is, groups that rigidly stick to releasing eps on time and may sacrifice quality for that (the notable exception being Eclipse).  Ayu are slow, AonE are slow, AniYoshi just take their time to make things right.

Also, I know this is late but Jinx I don't think that cross-dressing picture had the intended effect on me.  Shota traps are pretty cool you know...

Maybe, maybe... but haven't really seen much activity from AniYoshi until recently, so yeah...

So I finally finished Yozakura Quartet.  I think it's solid.  When shows like Index are collapsing around you it's nice to have a show that maintains a standard.  I would be in favour of screening it.

Maybe

Tuesday : Yozakura - ????

Thursday : Toradora

Friday : Kannagi + Others

I am reluctant to show Kannagi to a general audience, it'd probably be okay but the humour involves a lot of in-jokes.  Perhaps we can reserve the slot after Yozakura for a Winter show of 12 eps.

Kannagi is strangely paced, so I wouldn't show it either... I would suggest Ride Back... but that's new... hmm... Yozakura would be fine...

Which is why I put it on the Friday.  What the line up needs in the ? slot is some good drama, failing that some action.  Maybe White Album.  I should maybe be watching Ride Back, there were plenty of billboards about it.

Well... Ride Back apparently has 12 episodes, so it's a potential candidate. And which sub group would you be using for Toradora?

qq if they speed up.  AniYoshi otherwise, I guess.  I never got to checking them out, because qq released ONE more ep and I went crawling back...
