Sweet and simple little series with some interesting views on family. Flirty
and flighty little boy finds himself unexpectedly made the guardian of his 5
-year old cousin, Yuzuya. Boy learns to be more responsible and considerate.

Boy meets aloof girl who has similar childhood experiences to Yuzuya. Has to
choose between her and Yuzuya.

Episodes 1-5 were great, but it sort of went downhill from there, with some
occasional dark story arcs- which is when this series really shines. Speed of
the plot is akin to Slam Dunk / Dragonball (glacial pace), and quality of animation
is incosistent. They changing production houses every episode. Ends like Ranma
(i.e. has no ending) Still, quite pleasant.

Probably meant for a young female audience, although I'm not sure what all
the groping and petting was aiming at.

k i got a somewhat different view  :)

i found the first few episodes to be quite bad in terms of production. One of the very few animes i had a problem with seiyuus. But once i got used to the amateurish yet somehow really open and revealing production, the story and characters really grew on me. Not only does Yuzuyu hold the show together, Kippei grows very much around ep 13(?), around the time Shouta comes into it. And Kokoro just expontially gets better near the end. The voice acting did get better as it went on, eventually giving it a distinct taste and the music altho sometimes overdone did add to the dramatic feeling of the show.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for these types of series but I thought it really set out to show what it wanted to show, and did so wonderfully.

As for target audience although it is no doubt a shoujo series from a shoujo manga, it's very much enjoyable by guys i think. Where the rawness of KareKano was transformed by the brilliance of Gainax, the amateurish feel to Aishiteruze Baby gives it much closer to home feel...

k maybe i'm bias towards these kinds of stuff...

Something to do with Yuzuyu's voice being that of a real kid, and Kokoro's being that of some non-seiyuu?

they all seemed like non-seiyuu's...
i guess it just takes getting used to...
i can't tell if they actually got better towards the end or i just got used to them...
i must say the young voices (starting with Yuzuyu) were done pretty well...Marika-chan was just a classic

Marika appeared to the only kid character not to have a real kid seiyuu. Kippei's sister is obviously a pro seiyuu. I kind of wish they'd find an all-amateur cast, with people similar to the characters in real life. Guess you can only go so far with amateur seiyuu...

I liked Yuzuya's voice. It fit perfectly- but like most kids, she can't control her volume. All she could do was shout all of her lines out. Maybe the microphone was positioned a bit too high? ?_?

it's pretty rare(?) to use so many amatuer seiyuu's...
never really was much of a seiyuu fanatic...but i'm starting to notice them more.
the world of seiyuu fandom is quite scary.....hopefully i won't be sucked in :/
