This means that I'd like it if all non-club related news could go somewhere else (perhaps we should make a non-club news sub-forum? or a club news sub-forum.. :S).
I'll also be adding all the current news.

I have no idea how you're working this, but couldn't you just set a convention that all "broadcast" (displayed on the top page) threads are prefixed with an asterisk or "[news]" or something?

It seems like the situation you've got at the moment is that the most recent non-sticky threads are propagated, but what if you wanted something stickied on the top page as well?

the main page will display the 8 (or did I choose 7?) most recently posted TOPICS.
Which means that the order the original TOPIC was posted is whats important, stickyness/recent posts etc have no effect.
I could add a prefix or something... but that would just be more coding... and given that this IS the news forum... well... I figure only news topics should be in here anyway...
Instead of a prefix, I think it would be a lot easier to just have a sub-forum or something... or maybe two sections... "Club News" and "Forum News"... maybe a 3rd "3rd Party News"
