Could it not be in the library?

Slightly off topic, but I borrowed Saiyuki yesterday and it only has up to ep 38. There are 50 eps in the series. What happened to the rest of it? 
I'd like to see:
Kenshin
and
Saiyuki Reload/Gunlock

Because it is screening it can't be added to the library, well technically what we are screening is what is going to be in the library, so once it's been screened it'll be added. If that answers your question 

Screening stuff... is in a state of flux... we dont lend it out during screenings, so no point adding it too list...
Inuyasha... too long.. =S... tho possibly a DVD release... problem finding good qual encodes too...
Gundam etc... looooooong... if people want it... they already have it generally...
Astro Boy... Madman would NOT like this... tho when have we cared ... maybe...
the other 3 should be added soon...

Well i've just dumped off alot of stuff, only half of which will get onto the library, but it was wasted space for me anyway lol

And someone asked for the Greed Island OVAs of Hunter X Hunter so i'll pass that along, but it'll be on DVD

i got heaps of stuff that i can donate if you guys want it that is,

i mean seriously the current library is not really up to stratch, and what is with all this cd stuff, most of my newer stuff is all on dvd, maybe that's something that you could consider, instead of having all these discs flying around.

oh and another thing, is there a 3WA newsletter of somesort or another??? isn't there a publishing officer on the committee??

Library up to scratch: well.. I've heard one or two people say this... but in all honesty... I think we have quite a decent library... I mean there arent that many people who've seen eVERYTHING in it... and those who have... well what the hell are they borrowing from us for? they'd obviously have other sources
We do try to add to the library often of course...
CD vs DVD... last year we decided that DVDs were NOT yet the way to go (and we're confident we were correct) as many people still didnt have DVD drives... however now as DVD drives are only about $35; we can safely assume that most members will have them. HENCE from now on we will only replace single CDs, any more broken ones than that, and the series go to DVD. Additionally all new series' we add will be on DVD as we strive for more series', longer series' and better quality.
However, I'm sure you can understand the past and current need for CDs. (It used to be all VHS; can you imagine that? we still have 100+ tapes sitting in the club locker).

Newsletter: yes there is a publishing officer... however... well I dont wanna be rude... but he didnt do a single thing all year... instead I put out an unofficial newsletter, followed by an official newsletter last year...
Come the AGM we will be appointing a new publishing officer, and things should be back to normal. Also... I really need to get pdf copies of the newsletters online...


Donations: preferably on DVD... or if on CD; then please at least garantee us that the discs are not broken (crc errors etc are no good).
Basically, its best to make a list of what u can donate, and either post it here (of if theres lots of liscenced stuff... maybe PM or email it to me )
Then you can let us know at screenings (just taaalk to us =); I'm the white guy with the longish brown hair usually sitting with the library.
If we think they're suitable for adding, then we'll try to add them (this is why making sure they're on DVD or all working is important, coz we generally dont have time to do it ourselves).

do you take burnt dvds? also... on the topic of library(obviously) how do u borrow from it?

yes we take burnt DVDs and CD's (we dont take legit ones i dont think ... well I suppose we would if anyone was kind enough to donate a whole stack )
You borrow from the library by going to a 3WA screening ( www.3wanime.org/?q=screenings ) and bringing along a spindel (to safely borrow the CDs).
It works best if u find out whats free and what you want first ( www.3wanime.org/?q=library ).
Also, the online reservation system will be up as soon as I'm given the database by the secretary.

We'd be charging the cost of tapes =P, not cost of the subs... and we wouldnt charge much anyway, if at all...
Because of the VHS medium... its generally expected that u pay for the VHS (how else are they transferred), as it takes the provider time and money to make the copies.

hey.. seen as we watched eureka seven at the marathon... and it absolutely rox... u should add that! it would be totally awesome if u did!

However its only 7 episodes in so far... so a long way from completion... if you're lucky it -might- be added to the 'random' spindel once it reaches 13 eps or something, but then we wouldnt add more till it finished.

The "random spindel" is a spindel that may well containt some of the following:
Dorama (Japanese Drama... ie: GTO drama)
Ongoing Series' (including things like Naruto, One Piece etc... stuff that we usually wouldnt add because "its not complete". Note: this stuff will be provided a DVD at a time, so do NOT ask for more, it'll come when there is enough)
Other Anime Related Things (... stuff that I cant think of right now... perhaps AMV's... or stuff like that?)

Champloo should be added be next sem... tho I've a feeling there was one ep that the good subbers never did or something.. *shrug*

I don't think it was on there. I was about to suggest checking the booking system, until I realised that it's been down for quite a while. Or just do what everyone else does and go to the screenings and nag the librarian in charge for the list even when they're obviously using it ^_^

I wish I could go, but I don't have the money; nor the time, permission, and frequent flyer miles to do so. Why can't you people actually hold a screening in Asia. WHY?!?!?!?!

That is up to date with the following exceptions:
Whats in and out may be incorrect (we are yet to finish our stock take from last semester).
There will be many more things (especially on DVD) by next semester.

Tsubasa Chronicles has only had 14 episodes released (I know... I dl each one immediately =P ), and I expect it will go on for AGES!!! However, we will probably get it on the "random spindel" once 26 episodes have been released.
